Your school is invited to demonstrate its progress in becoming a high-performing middle-grades school by applying for this prestigious recognition.

 

Selected schools will be featured in state and national publications, and will be visited by educators from around the country looking to see where “things are being done right.” Schools will also participate in professional development, and will serve as models for other schools.

 

1. Review the Schools to Watch criteria:  
   
   

   • Academic excellence

   • Developmental responsiveness

   • Social equity

   • Organizational structures and processes
     
     

2. Read the application guidelines.
   
   

3. Use the School Self-Rating Survey to gain valuable insight into the perceptions of your faculty, the strengths and weaknesses of your programs, and your school’s facilities, safety, vision, support, and outreach.
   
   

4. Complete the application (Word document).
   
   

5. Submit your completed application by Nov. 1 to Steve Hoelscher at stevehoel@sbcglobal.net.
